Oregano bunless burger ( and with the bun)

Low carb oregano bunless burger ( both versions).

Oregano bunless burger ? Wtf is this sh**t You will ask ? This is a regular burger pretty much, but with more vegetables and with my new bbq sauces i am testing ! Not always i want to make everything from scratch, nor do i have the time. Heavy usage of herbs adds a nivc flavour, and makes it more fun and enjoyable to eat. On the other side oregano can stick between Your teeth, You can’t have everything 😉

Also i made this so i will be able to test my sauces that i bought. Used a bit of them and now i can say what is the most awesome stuff and what sauces works with what.

The sauces are described in the next post 😉

Why oregano ?

It is awesome stuff. It works anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and others. Read more here OREGANO BENEFITS. Also it helps to kill Your breath odor and taste pretty well. Altough… it can be an aquired taste. I like to have it a bit more then a bit less.  You can try to go with a lot of basilia instead oregano. You can use the dried herbs or fresh one. Of course fresh are better but in this recipe i didn’t have the possibility, we do not alway want to buy everything. Works great with toasts and a lot of cheese… in my humble opinion.

Try to use basilia instead of oregano 🙂

The oregano bunless burger with a lot of spices. All the flavour should be able to blow up Your mind. BBQ sauces, ketchup, oregano. Rukola, fresh vegetables and regular bun and go without it ! Very nice, not that big, so You won't feel bloated and adding salt should keep You satied. Try basilia if You want. High fiber in this dish makes carbs beeing digested slower and lowers the insuline spike after eating.

  • 2 burger buns or don't use them.
  • 2 150g burger patty BEEF !!
  • 2 big slices yellow cheese
  • 1 big tomato
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 cup rukola
  • 2 tbsp fried cabbage with onions Just had a leftover 😉 You can skip this part.
  • 2 tbsp oregano Yes, one table spoon per burger.
  • Some amount BBQ sauce, ketchup, anything You want.

  2. The bunless version of the burger. Place the patty in the middle, surround it with vegetables You like, want and so on. Spray it over with the sauce to get the required visual effect (So You can charge more for it 🙂 ).

  1. Bought already made burger patties. Awesome 94% of meat, very nice texture of this when You bite in. You need to find the ones that best suit You. Just add salt and black pepper.

  2. Fry it as long as You want it. I like well done, not often i do want almost raw. Depends 😉 Here You can see the pepper on the patty. At the end just add cheese on top so it will melt nicely.

  3. Slice the patty in half and add rukola, onion, tomatoes and red paprika. Just prepare the veggies bedding for the burger patty.

  7. Spray everything with dried oregano. One table spoon. The aroma and flavour is awesome. Now the oregano bunless burger is getting in shape, only the last step is left !

  8. The bottom bun is just dry as it was in the package, The top bun i soaked a bit in the fat that was left in the pan after frying burgers. Adding awesome taste, and calories 😉 Tha...Tha..Tha.. That's all folks !!

The summary

Remember, if You are cutting, loose the bun and add more vegetables so You won’t feel hungry. Add a dash of salt to everything besides the burger, it should help You satisfy the hunger. BEWARE that salt intake is exclusively depending on Your lifestyle and health. You will know if You are full or need a little more. From what i learned we need rather more salt than less. Just remember to get not ONLY SODIUM but the whole range and variety of minerals like magnesium, potasium and others.
